Dr Ker is an outstanding accredited dermatologist with more than 12 years of experience in clinical practice. She trained in the United States and has remarkable expertise in the fields of laser and skin surgery, paediatric dermatology, eczema, immune-related skin diseases and hair disorders. She is often invited to speak at local and overseas conferences. Apart from a distinguished clinical career, Dr Ker was also actively involved in research, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and dermatological book chapters. Her passion lies in caring for patients with complex skin problems and believes in providing the most up-to-date and personalised expert care for patients. Dr Ker graduated from National University of Singapore and was placed on the Dean’s List. She received the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and completed her dermatology specialist training at the National Skin Centre, Singapore. Dr Ker then completed her fellowship at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, USA in 2015. At the National Skin Centre, Dr Ker was the deputy head of Immunodermatology Unit, and a core clinician in the divisions of Paediatric dermatology, Dermatologic and Laser Surgery units. She also served as visiting consultant to the department of dermatology in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and is currently a visiting consultant to Kandang Kerbau Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKWCH). For her dedication to providing excellent patient care, she received the NSC Service Champion award in 2017. She was also a core tutor for the NUS undergraduate dermatology programme, and received the National Healthcare Group Teaching Award for Junior Clinicians in 2014. Dr Ker is currently a member of the Dermatological Society of Singapore and a course instructor in the Dermatological Society of Singapore Aesthetic Practice Competency Course. In addition, she has memberships in multiple prominent dermatologic societies in USA, namely Rheumatologic Dermatology Society, Society for Pediatric Dermatology and Medical Dermatology Society. Dr Ker feels strongly about giving back to society and helping the underprivileged. She volunteers regularly with health screenings at MINDS (Movement for Intellectually Disabled of Singapore) and Tzu Chi free clinics, and has participated in numerous overseas humanitarian mission trips to Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia and Sri Lanka. For her compassion and dedication, she was awarded the Healthcare Humanity Award in 2017.
